This filter is generally seated on the connecting piece in the line just before the air cooler (condenser). If the air conditioner does not cool properly and the system enough coolant (Refrigen), it may be that this filter is clogged.
There are several different filters that differ in color.

Be sure to renew when changing the compressor!
